The Second Home Market isn't Shrinking but the Second Home Is

North Georgia Mountains, Blue Ridge Real Estate, Second Homes, Cabin and Land Packages

The housing market has certainly brought some great challenges but it's also brought tremendousBuild an Affordable Log Cabin in the Mountains opportunity too.  Smaller, less expensive houses in resort communities are now being built. The point is, you can have a great vacation home in a wonderful resort area that is reasonably priced.  Lock and leave is much easier with a smaller house eliminating the need for larger homes to have a staff on-site or hire a property management company.

With the housing market the way it is, even the affluent are looking for more reasonably priced vacation homes.  Not all second home buyers need or even want a house that's over $2 million.

The days of buying to have a big, impressive home may be over.  Having a home that is more environmentally friendly, reasonably affordable and meets the needs of the homeowner just makes good cents!

The North Georgia market is a very opportunistic market for buyers and sellers. Here you'll find affordable land and cabin packages and great buys for lake front, river front and creek front homes.  Turn your dream of owning a vacation home in the gorgeous North Georgia Mountains into reality.

Consider this:  your money is sitting in the bank, earning what? Less than 1/2% annually... put your money to work for you in an investment property, earn more in rentals.  And don't forget, you'll be paying down the principal and even with a conservative rate of appreciation, you are coming out far better than what a bank is paying you, plus you get the enjoyment of using your mountain home whenever you desire.

A small vacation home sounds good, less work to keep clean and less upkeep.

Diana: Thank you.

Steve:  I appreciate your nice comment and encouragement.  Thankyou.

Charles: Although, I live here full time, I always feel like I'm on vacation.  I was smart, I kept it simple when I built my home here and so very glad I did.

Hi Donna,  Yes, smaller vacation homes are more practical.  Even smaller first homes.  Buy only what you need. Smaller cars too.  Gas prices will never come down.  Buy less and save more.

Manny:  We've learned a lesson through the last few years going from boom sadly in some cases bust. Sometimes less is really more.
